Who/What/Why Is Tulsa Food Hunt?

The idea for the Tulsa Food Hunt blog came about when a few of my ridiculous friends and I realized that we would have to find a new go-to Thai restaurant when we all moved to Tulsa. In two years we had discovered a good number of new restaurants in Oklahoma City, so why not take on Tulsa and document it?? We need to find our favorite Thai places, our favorite falafel places, our favorite pizza places, and a solid coffee shop, ALL in two years. Impossible is nothing...

We're professional students, not critics, so we're kind of winging it. Our core group of reviewers has a few traditional meat eaters and one hickster vegetarian, and we've been to enough eateries in our adult life to know what REALLY matters. Is the food good? Is the food reliable? Are the bathrooms clean? Are the bathrooms reliable? Are the owners/staff people you'd like to see again? Is the service worth calling home about? We aren't going to bore you with tales of "exotic" and chic restaurants with the latest and most expensive wine list. We're students, and we're looking for a decent meal under $10, so it may not be the classiest place, but we'll find what we're looking for.

The categories may change, but right now that's what we're going with. Donuts will be a featured item on this blog because I said so. We also plan to rate different Taco Bells around the Tulsa metro area, including the 11th St./TU T-Bell featuring the "Bell-A-Gram". We know that there will be some bumps in the road, and a few special restaurants which escape categorization, so we plan to remain flexible. We also plan to get our acts together and include some photos, so please be patient. So here's to food, friends, flatulence and a dream.

Nimish!! I am your woman when it comes to Thai food! I'm going to give Lanna Thai a hearty two thumbs up. (hey, if it was good enough for Ben Folds. . . ) Let me know if you ever need a Thai dining buddy.

I hear good things about Kaffe Bona, but have yet to go. Shades of Brown is my favorite coffee shop here . . . so far.
